ARTIST BIO
Hyo Kim was born in South Korea and attended University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, receiving B.A. in Digital Media. She started her career as a matte painter producing realistic backgrounds for films. Her focus has shifted towards traditional forms of paintings over the years and Hyo Kim is best known for her silhouette paintings. Hyo’s paintings, with simplified yet bold silhouettes of people against colourful backgrounds of nature often set in dawn or dusk.
